Ryan Mitchell - Massage Therapist
Ryan was born and raised in California and spent 8 years in Colorado before finally settling in Utah in 2001. Ryan was a team rider for Sims Snowboards from ’97-’01. He spent time in the off season coaching wake boarding and working for Liquid Force wakeboards during the same time period.
As an athlete Ryan suffered several serious injuries. By the time he was 30 he was dealing with chronic pain and decreased range of motion. He was introduced to massage and yoga around the age of 30 by his uncle who is a practicing therapist in California. Finding this to be the most effective treatment for his pain when combined with focused exercise and nutrition, Ryan later chose to pursue a career in massage therapy. He graduated from Utah College of Massage Therapy in 2014.
As a licensed massage therapist, he has chosen to focus primarily on Sports and Injury massage. Ryan uses deep tissue massage combined the mechanical vibration and trigger point therapy to restore pliability to the soft tissue and range of motion to the joints. Ryan is proof of the healing power of bodywork, particularly when combined with focused physical training and proper nutrition.
Ryan uses Organic lotion and cotton flannel sheets. Ryan cleans all linens in organic laundry detergent. Ryan does not use fabric softeners in the washing or drying process.
Ryan uses mechanical vibration from Erchonia in standard treatments to help loosen and relax tissue before deeper manual bodywork at no extra charge to the client.
Many massage providers may charge extra for specific modalities including deep tissue. I do not agree with this philosophy. I do not charge extra for deeper pressure or specific modalities. I may charge an additional fee for the use of hot towels, essential oils, or Sombra to cover the cost associated with providing these services. Any additional charge will be discussed ahead of time with the client.
*Sombra is a natural pain reliving gel made from capsaicin, aloe vera extract, grapefruit seed extract, green tea extract, orange peel extract, queen of the prairie extract, and rose water, witch hazel, yucca extract.
